Wow, time flies!

Hello all,

I cannot even believe Jake is over 2 months old now! It's amazing how time flies. I am SO lucky that I live so close and get to see my precious Godson weekly. I wish I could say daily, but being a teacher does take up some time in one's life. Anyways, I thought I'd recount this really funny story that happened one of the last times I was @ the Settle house playing with Jakey. Michael had just come home from work and I was hanging out with Bree and Jake. Well, Jake was a bit fussy; he'd had a long night and didn't get much sleep, so Bree decided to do everything she could to make him laugh. First, she came in and started doing a jig, which made me laugh harder than Jake. Then, she whipped out the Circus-themed puppet show I bought for them for Christmas. Well, here's the funny part: Michael was holding Jake so Bree and I were the ones with the puppets. First Bree grabbed a lion and said HELLO JAKE, I'M LEO THE LION! (in her best Brisith-like-the-shark-on-Finding-Nemo accent) Then, she pulled out the seal which had a ball on its nose and said, HELLO JAKE, I'M SALLY THE SEAL (or whatever she called it). And I was the hippo and I said HELLO JAKE, APPARENTLY LEO THE LION AND SALLY THE SEAL HAVE THE EXACT SAME VOICE!! So, Michael and I proceeded to die laughing and Bree was determined to make a different voice. So she grabbed the duck, and said: HELLO JACOB-SON..I AM HERE TO MAKE YOU LAUGH (in a Mr. Miyagi voice that just about made me pee my pants). And then we all laughed for 5 minutes straight. Maybe it's not as funny now that I'm writing it, but if you heard my sister's voices, you'd be dying, too. Just a little peek into the daily like of Jacob Knox. What awesome and fun parents he has!!

Anyway, Jake was not liking the bath for awhile but now he apparently is starting to enjoy it more; which is great because I can't wait to buy him floaty bath toys!! OH! We also video taped Jake after the puppet show (which really made us laugh more than him) when we pulled out some books for him. One my Aunt Leslie gave to him and I can't remember who gave him the other one. They are soft, colorful books and he was SO excited. I mean, a man after my own heart: a reader!! He was coo-ing and seriously trying to mimic what we were saying. HE EVEN TURNED THE PAGE. He's SUCH a genius. I mean, seriously. I'll see what I can do to snag that video and upload it to the blog, but no promises since it was on Michael's camera. I have yet to load my camera pictures, but I do have precious ones Bree sends me almost daily of Mr. Jakey on my phone. I will load those now and put them up for you all to see how much he's grown! Hope everyone is getting excited for 105 degree weather like I am (not!). YAY summer!

Lots of love,
-Ash
